A TOWN GOVERNMENT TO SERVE YOU
The master plan for Scottsville is the Town's Comprehensive Plan. Prepared by the Planning Commission, it is the guide for future
development of Scottsville and is based on the following vision for Scottsville's future.
Scottsville should preserve its small town character including the trusting and cordial manner of its citizens, protect its
scenic and historical areas and guide and accomplish a coordinated, adjusted and harmonious development which will best promote the
health, safety, morals, order, convenience and prosperity of its citizens and maintain the quality of life which they now enjoy and
which is most important to them.
The elected officials of our community are charged with carrying out this master
plan. They are your neighbors. They are all volunteers,
receiving no compensation for their time and effort, other
than the satisfaction of knowing they have given their best
to serve their community. The governing of any municipality
is a complex process, even for our small town ... in some
ways, especially for our small town. Consequently, an approach
to governing has been established in Scottsville that involves
the participation of people throughout our community. Committees
have been formed, each co-chaired by two members of Council,
but primarily made up of interested citizens.
To learn more about these committees and how they help
shape Town policy and decisions, or to request to participate
in one or more of them, visit the Town Office or call 434-286-9267
or visit the Town's web site at www.scottsville.org.
